Sump question advice needed

hi where's a safe place to drill in the sump to fit a oil temp sensor .
Could some one please show me on a pic I don't want to balls it up

Sorry for the fast prompt but I've got my oil drained and drill & tap at the ready just unsure here to drill

Some of the sumps have the connection in the sump and just need the sensor

I can't find any thing like that . Looking at pictures the best place to fit one would be the right hand side when your under neath less obstructions in the sump . but means removing engine mount to drop it past the sub frame to drill the bugger .front or back or the left again from underneath. Would be best I think .but I don't want to damage nothing internally

U dont want to drill the sump while fitted anyway. So get it off n have a good look.

That's buy far the safest option Dave I'll get it off today .was hoping to avoid removing it for now

U would leave swarf in the sump n then that would go round your engine. (Not good)

I had to drill the cradle on mine to fit a oil return pipe (for the turbo)

Me and evocarlos did it. It was a bit scary for me lol.

Got it all sorted was a stubborn bugger to get of .i removed the oil level sensor as its not used and fitted it around that Aeria at the rear of the sump

Got it all back together now just leaving it for a couple hours to let the selent go of before re filling with oil 🙂 hopefully no leaks

I was looking into installing a temperature sensor in the sump . To much hassle as l was told l would need to install the temp sensor just below the oil return pipe to get a true reading.

It's bean fine. it's only about 2 inches away from it so it's gone be a good reading & still in the oil flow
I wouldent fit it underneath it as would leave the sensor more exposed you don't want to rip that out

Got it fitted there now had it in the ashtray but lucked shite would of preferred to leave the slats on but couldn't c the display properly
