HI people i have a 2.2 SRI preface the timing chain is a little rattly so im looking to change it.
im quite handy on the spanners but, not knowing the vectra as its my first one can any body tell me how difficult this would be to tackle myself.
Or is there anyone on here local to heathrow that does it ?

Hi mate I've just done both timing chains on my z22se vec I'm no mechanic but I also handy with a spanner doing this takes care focus and time no rushing and making sure all timing marks are spot on even on the balance shafts also have timing marks but might be hard to notice the markings and when you have all timing marks lined up when put chain on work from the bottom up to the cams and no special tools needed just common

i am a semi skilled mechanic(on paper)

Iv done plenty of timing chains and cam belts

but i wouldnt do the chains myself (i would probably give it a go out of the car)

But its very easy to get wrong(which is costly if u do any damage)
Id recommend @[deleted] for the job

Looks like i might be going on a little road trip!!
I,ve also been looking for someone to do a remap as ive had a powerflow system put on and changed the filter
but im having trouble finding someone that will do it ..
im in the heathrow area any ideas ...

How was the access for lining up the balance chain Marty as it looks very tight to me!

WELCOME Ken have a go yourself, im the middle of doing it myself, well changing guides, valves, lapping valves. then onto the chains. As Martyfart2013 said slow and steady, triple check your double checks lol youll be fine mate
