Hi guys I've got a situation here I've got an 03 veccy petrol 2.2 was losing oil out the exhaust went camping and major noise from timing chain so... After wiping out my bank account I took head off to replace stem seals had head skim replaced both timing chains so yes expensive hobby anyway I used victor rinse hard gasket torque her up on hainze man 25 nm and 2 lots of 90 degrees and a 60 then 15 and the bugger has let water into oil getting back pressure from oil filler cap no water lose but drives and ticks over nice any advice on maybe re.torque?
It seems you have incorrect torque settings, I am not sure that you got them from the Haynes manual
I have one and it tells me the torque settings are as follows
Cylinder head bolts ×10
Stage 1 30nm
Stage 2 angle tighten a further 60º
Stage 3 angle tighten a further 60º
Stage 4 angle tighten a further 35º
Cylinder head ×4 (timing chain end bolts)tork head s
35nm
It is possible that the cylinder head is cracked or there is something wrong with the head gasket
I have the same problem you have oil and water mixing this is after having head skimmed but not pressure tested so can not say for sure what the problem is.
