I think you are asking for trouble if you go near them with a drill
They can come out easily with a hammer and punch, its putting a new 1 in with a hammer and punch I had trouble with, I damaged the tip a little when hitting it.
There is an old post back at the top of recent posts where another guy had the same problem I had.
It can be done, but is risky. And I think luck plays a part as well
If you diy then put the guide in the freezer overnight Carl recommended.
He has taken guides from one head to fit in another without any problems, I tried it and broke 3 guides so ended up buying a new one.
A machine shop will do it for between 10-15 pounds so its not too dear and can be done in a couple of hours .
