HI GUYS, Just tried to start my veccy heard some clunking then it wont turn over.done some digging then i saw this! HELP

that is not good, expect the valves to be bent and the valve guides to be cracked as well 🙁

yep that's 6 bent valves for sure

its not the end just means you need do do some work on the head and fit new valves and guides

I think it's bent valves that has caused this
Possibly chain snapped or jumped a few teeth

So you could have cracked valve guides
And valves to replace plus they broken bits so maybe better with another cylinder head and new chains

would this be a case of buying new valves and cam followers and guides cam chain balancer, or another car?

New valves, valve guides as they will have cracked.
Head gasket, head bolts, valve stem seals(full head gasket set)

Timing and balance chain kit.

where would be the best place to source these items? as money is very tight atm

Someone on here was selling some head parts cheap the other day.

but id say ebay, just make sure u get gm or atleast fai parts.

i may know someone with a head.
@[deleted] was breaking but not sure if he has a head.

You could get a good used head amd fit new chains and head gasket set.

I sold the head @[deleted] to @[deleted] a couple of months back, he's using it on his project mate, the other engine I had that was running I sold complete with gearbox, got lots of Vectra C sri parts still though

If there not bent there fine. Test with petrol to see if they leak. (I think thats how its done)

But any bent valves will have cracked the guides which will need replacing aswell.

Im sure theres a guide to fit guides on here (no pun intended lol)

how do you test a guides for cracks?

you can actually see the cracks once the valkves are removed. If you don't replace them the engine will burn oil and smoke 🙁
