Cfrenchy77 Can anyone shed any light on this please have a z22yh 2.2 direct vectra c 57 plate 158000 miles seems to have lost power struggling to get above 5000 rpm even when on standstill and wines above 4000 rpm also today it seemed like it was running on 3 cylinders no engine light on or smoking out the back then once turned off and back on was all ok still sluggish tho and loose of power any ideas ??
IDI_AMIN Possibly timing chain wear thats causing problems Based on mileage i would say this is long overdue unless you know the history or maybe had it done yourself Best to try and pinpoint where whining is coming from if it is from fuel pump or engine area
Cfrenchy77 Throttle body as in on top of inlet manifold were the air intake pipe go's on and egr been blanked Dave could it b a knackered cat or blocked cat as emissions were high on mot and said will need replacing soon ??
milo If it's struggling to get above 5000 rpm going over posts on the forum in the past most have been a faulty pump.
Cfrenchy77 The car starts first time on the key tho every time surly if was a faulty fuel pump I would get probs all the time I have read some post about cats being partly blocked causing loss of power aswell
Cfrenchy77 If it was the pump surly I would get a code or it would struggle to start in mornings I did notices this morning when it was cold just started that it seemed quicker then after a min or so it seemed sluggish again hence why am thinking cat has collapsed and restricting the gases to escape
Dave_Gilbert Iv got a manicat for sale removed from 77000 miles vectra c. Only removed to fit turbo. If your interested let me know.
Dave_Gilbert Its a manicat on mine but im not 100% sure on fitment. I can get the part number off it, if that helps
Cfrenchy77 Don't think they will fit then I've found somewhere 210 all in fitted brand new I've also found a fuel pump 40 at my mates breakers his put it to one side for me thanks for the help tho mate
Cfrenchy77 Was the cat that had failed new one fitted today and it's running spot on cheers for all the help lads
