Replaced EGR with blank plate and cheater but discovered this!

See pictures Below of cracked EGR mount on the block.
What is the highlighted connector for as it was disconnected?!

Any ideas for solving this. The Blank plate is fine without the other bolt and mount but it might work loose or the gasket might fail!
Any ideas welcome?
I thought of liquid metal or tap a small screw into the alloy mount remaining. Are there any other liquid metal products out there that might do the job. Looks like the fracture is pretty old so the EGR unit has been holding it on.
Maybe gasket seal to glue the plate so it doesn't move?
Or just liquid metal the whole plate on?

Id say to drill the blanking plate and then tap the block here(see pic)

And i would chemicle metal the other half on n mount it to the planking plate.

The extra hole should stop it from working loose and the chemicle metal should hold the gasket so it doesnt leak.

the picture above is the method I use to repair them, I also fill the exhaust side hole full with exhaust putty before the blanking plate goes on.

You can also drill a hole through the exhaust side hole and use a nut and bolt to fully seal it

Cheers Dave and Vocky I thought as much but its great to get things confirmed! I am assuming the exhaust side hole is the smaller one on the left and the intake is on the right of the picture. I am also assuming the cast support bar (lower left) that attaches to the block is not 'hollow' if I drill and tap it there?
Also what is the connection for in picture 1 I struggled to find it in my Haynes manual?

it is hollow on the left hand side and the exhaust side is on the right 🙂

I drill straight through and use a M8 nut and bolt (y)

Sorry for all the questions..
Does the coil pack suppressor prevent overloading of the ECU with regards coil pack spikes. Is it needed as it must have been unplugged for ages and I hadn't noticed!

Thats something that isnt fitted on mine any more(wasnt a plug for it on the z20net loom)

Shouldnt make any difference on mine, its only for radio interference isnt it?

it there to prevent interference on the ecu signal from the coil pack

Cheers for all the help.
Plate and cheater well and truly fitted with M8 bolt exhaust paste and liquid metal. No chance its coming off or leaking now! Car running well do i need to plug in OPcom and clear anything or just leave it to re learn (no dash lights showing)?
