i think you misunderstand
cloyes supply gm with the chain kit parts for the engines so genuine gm will be cloyes 🙂
aftermarket are not cloyes just aftermarket and made in china for FAI,lucas, bga and what ever other aftermarket brands there are
chain - made in france
bolts - made in usa
sprokets - made in usa
guides - made in usa
tensioner - made in germany

you should never expect an aftermarket kit to perform or last as long as a gm kit
but some people dont see the ""cam belt and water pump every 3 years £180"" vs the 2 chains on a ecotec for £280 every 10 years/100k the math works out better for the gm chains
some people buy a car with a z22se for £4-600 then shit the bed when they see the cost of the chains but they dont think of the above line ^^^^^^ 🙂
some people dont have a choice and have to buy the aftermarket kits due to not having the money
the aftermarket are a complete replica of the gm kit but made and supplied at a fraction of the value
i will still recommended even if you're a tight wad get a gm main chain kit its the most important to keep the engine from smashing itself and consider that the gm kits have been in cars for 10year so you could expect 10 years life from a gm kit (not to say that poor servicing shortens the life of the chain kits 🙂)
