Failed MOT

After just starting to get the car back to how it should be it fails the MOT. 🙁

Broken rear spring, so orded a set of springs just hope they get here in the week so i can get a free retest.

Gutted.

sorry to hear that, i have had a new set of rear springs, apparently it is a common problem on Astras

It is a very common fault the bottom coils always brake at least it's only a five minute job to fix.

How low are you going to drop the car? 🙂

only by 15-20mm.

The garage that did the mot wanted £150 for new rear springs fitted.

Thats about right a vxl garage quoted me IIRC £169 for the rear set

vxl quoted me £220 for just the rear springs!!

That price is just stupid.

still waiting for me springs to come hopfuly be here tomorrow.

This happened on my uncles 2.0DTI Astra, and it's a very common fault

The new springs arived today, so of to the garage tomorrow 😃

Thanks Matt, he said he was going to do it over 2 days but he is only charging me £60.

Thats not bad, will that include the re-test as well?

Yeah i sent a lot of work his way in the last year so he does some petty cheap work for me.

Well all fitted and passed just got to go get some tax tomorrow now.
