Z22se coversion to z20let

Hi im sure this has been mentioned before. I have had my z22se coupe for a while now and i fancied a change so i found an astra coupe z20let and bought it cheap. I was just wondering if you have any advice about what needs switching over from z20let to z22se ( engine mounts ect ) any help would be helpfull.

why would you want to down grade to a z20let? :LOL:
only kidding, whats wrong with the z20let car? engine swaps mean a big rise in insurance.
would just be r/h engine mount and rear gearbox mount that's different and gear box. also wireing loom, rads, ecu,

Haha 🙂. Not much realy its just had a knock on the rear. What about ignition ? And i thought the gearboxes were the same f23 ?

both f23 only they have different ratio's and more importantly different bell housing as starter is on front on z22se, rear on z20let.
so your power loom will also need swapping and transponder + key chip.

I would just fix the let car. Unless its in a right tangle.

what cars are they? Are they borh astra coupes?

Yes mate they are both astra coupes. Was just wondering where the engine loom goes through the bulkhead there is a big plug, i asume this is where the engine loom meets the dash loom can i get away with not changing them around. I asume the fuel lines need swopping aswell. Any help would be usefull. Thanks in advance.

i did the same kind of thing with my turbo conversion.

Well going on my experience

Full engine, gearbox, mounts, exhaust, inlet manifold full engine bay loom.

Probably fuel lines and fuel pump in tank(may not)

Ecu, transponder in key and ring round ignition.

and some things may need pairing up with op-com.

you may need pass codes aswell.

If I were you I'd swap everything over dash loom engine loom engine box shafts and basically swap the cars over there are some things both cars use the same but rather than working out what's what it will be easier and quicker to swap everything

Best thing to do is keep the donor car and as many parts from it for as long as you can. So you know 100% sure its all running right.

I still have most of my donor car.

Please please help. News update i have got the z20let engine in the car shes all plugged up i have not changed the dash loom but all the other looms have been changed over. I have changed the key chip and key transponder aswell. And when i try and turn her over she turns then stops. The power steering pump wines like mad aswell ??? Any ideas ?

Have you connected the plug on the alternator? If it's unplugged the power steering will wine with ignition on.

Im sure i have ,i shall check later it wines even when the key is out. Plus i get no dash lights at all the only one thats on is the battery symbol.

Ok ive figured out why there were no dash lights its was the engine earth done that and the power steering has stopped wineing. Whdn the ignition is turned on the fan kicks in and doesnt stop. The car wont turn over either ?? Any ideas ?

Are you sure the dash looms are the same? It sounds like an electrical problem there's various different 2.2 looms so I would of thought the let loom is different again
