Zafira engine idling problem

Hi guys . I've recently purchased a 2.2 zafira petrol on a 51 plate. It's only done 88k. The engine is idling lumpy and it kangaroos between first,second and third .
I did a bit of research on here and it all points to the egr valve. So I decided to blank it off using a 3mm aluminium blanking plate and original gasket .I've turned the egr valve itself 90 degrees so as it's free to move.. It seems stuck solid anyway.
It improved the lumpy idling, but it hasn't completely gone!!!
It still kangaroos aswell if your too harsh with the acceleration after changing gear. Can anybody help me with improving the running please.

Get a egr cheater. I believe if the egr is stuck it will cause other issues as it still thinks its inside the engine not working

Thanks for the reply. But if the engine recognised the egr valve as faulty, wouldn't there be an eml showing ?

There isn't. I've just bought an egr cheater, might aswell try that first. It's still cheaper than buying a new egr valve.

If the valve is stucked open, engine will be idling lumpy.
Mine was stuck closed, and i noticed that the EML light will not come up immediately after ecu catches error code.

Remedy:
In case of customer complaint where an EGR valve is detected as faulty
during diagnosis, it should not be renewed but removed.
1. Close exhaust gas recirculation port with a cover plate (Part-/Cat.-No.:
24575592 / 58 50 526) by using gasket (Part-/Cat.-No.: 12570863 / 08 51 761)
The groove on the plate has to show in direction of radiator and and the
plate labeling upwards.
2. Fix the superfluous wiring harness connector with a cable strap
(connector port in direction to front wall).
3. Program ECU with SPS as of TIS-CD 50 (select without EGR).
