Drove my wifes 1.6 SXi on std suspension the other day, the front end feels nicely balanced, ultimately not as much grip as mine on B12's but just a more 'pure' feel. Guess this is due to the lower weight on the front axle. So for my daily driving mild track day car I'm thinking of moving the battery to the boot for added front end lightness!
First thing I tried was swapping the battery in situ. 17.9kg (66amp) in the 2.2 for the 12.3Kg(50amp) in the 1.6. Does she crank......yes she does no prob and Voltage drop OK too. Will probably need to swap back for the winter though.
Anyone moved their battery? I'm thinking the spare wheel well prob best? Whats the best route for cables? Any other potential problems?
AIr con delete next, then carbon bonnet if I can find 2nd hand.
