Parts compatibility

Hey

Im looking at buying a heap of parts from rock auto and noticed parts for the 2008 chevelet cobalt 2.2 L4 are a lot cheaper

are these parts compatible with z22se

I believe the engine is a z22se but the americans call it something else

i think they call it a L61 i was talking to @[deleted]
about the engine codes the other day but i cant remember what thread it was.

Hey if i were in ur position i would go with an earlier model than 2008 as parts are more likely to common with z22se which more or less was replaced by z22yh in 2005 in Uk. Over in the US its called L61 but there are many versions depending on what car its fitted to. Im pretty certain they have same block and head and i know they have cable throttle but no sure about other parts.........

as above, make sure it's the L61 / 2.2 ecotec

the exhaust manifolds will not fit the European z22se models, so don't buy one of them from the states

Yep its a L61 engine ecotec 2.2

Timing gear
Water pumps
Bearings
Piston heads
Gaskets

More parts seem to be available for the L61 over the z22se. The parts also come in at a fraction of the price compare to those available for the z22se.

then you need to look at vat and shipping costs 🙂
be sure the timing kit is made by coyles you dont want aftermarket

Plus you may well get hit for import duties as well and that can bump the price up a lot. Would be worth finding out if the shipping covers import charges or not.
