Daz86 Hi my key fob is completely nackerd . I've got a central locking unit had it for ages but never got round to fitting it .so would like to fit it to the astra since the fob don't work . How would I go about fitting it to my car .cupple pics would be nice or a how to even better . It's a unit that remote starts the car and central locking but don't want it to start the car .well not for now any way
Dave_Gilbert Id get the key repaired about 15quid on ebay. vauxhall immobiliser can get abit complicated.
Daz86 Isint the chip in the key the imobiliser I only want the central locking working .sadly I only have one key and it dosent work atall with a new battery . The battery holder had came of I re solderd it and still not working it's compleatly dead
Dave_Gilbert A guy on ebay does all the micro switches n modifies the battery holder etc. you keep the key n chip n just send him the board n case. he fixes it n puts a new case n battery on. I had both my corsa keys done. Works mint.
Daz86 Dave don't suppose u no his eBay name do you .. I have also heard u can change just the board but it needs to be a brand new one and then needs programming to your car
Johnss Correct me if im wrong, but to program new remote control you have to put key in the ignition, turn until dash light come up, and press lock button on the remote. (I'm not talking about RFID)
evocarlos yes the central locking need the key in and the ignition on with a key press (lock) to resync the fob it would required this each time the battery is removed the immobiliser chip would need tech2/opcom and the carpass code to program in a new chip
Daz86 Is this a Brand new key or a 2nd hand key ? Iv got a old working fob nocking about could I use that . I Wouldent need a new chip would I
evocarlos i think you can use any fob to run the central locking once its been synced ? would have to check ive got one knocking about i wanted to try but never got round to testing it out
HarleyPete If it's the same type as a Zafira then I think your right Carl. The chip is separate to the fob pcb so I think it's just a case of doing as Carl says. Not sure if your can program the chip using OpCom (you can with the Signum fob if it's a new chip).
