hi guys other than styling n shocks what the difference in engine between the direct sri and the design model as they have the same Bhp

Of its a z22yh its a z22yh 153bhp. Doesnt matter what car its in.

if its a z22se its a z22se with 147bhp.

The model like design or sri, sxi elite is just trim n suspension.

Hi Dave been reading your posted about the SE turbo project looks interesting after reading it I fou my self think is it easier on the yh or the SE ?

Se is a closer match to the net engine which is where most of the parts have come from

The yh head is different but I dont know in what way. I would say if you were to do it on a yh, it might be worth changing the head to either a net head or a se head but im no professional. So some research would be needed. @[deleted] may be able to shed some light on the subject of the head difference.

the yh head has many structural differences over the z22se
it has
direct injection (fuel sprayed right in to the cylinder)
cam sensor
8 individual inlet ports (for the swirl flaps)
plug towers are better reinforced (like the z20net)
the rest is pritty much the same

Thanks guys don't think I will be going for a turbo though maybe just a nice exhaust n a remap panel filter .. Next problem is the bloody key need a new one my buttons have packed up are the costly ?)

Depends if you go to a dealer. They are over £100 to supply and program or around £80 to just program. I had one that was cut for locks/ignition but wouldn't program for some reason. I bought a new transponder chip from eBay and soldered it on then programmed it using my opcom. There are people on ebay that do refurbs on keys so might be worth looking at.

181562157653 this is the auction number on Ebay for a complete key with internals. All you'd need to do is get it cut and programmed. Which if there's someone near you with an opcom can be done. The cutting shouldn't cost too much at your local locksmiths. I am assuming of course your key looks like that.

Theres a guy on ebay that refurbished my keys for me.

new microswitch buttons, battery and shell for about £15

All you need to do is keep the key blade n chip I think.

Just put vauxhall key repair into ebay theres loads.

you can buy the kit and attempt it yourself but they are small so I wouldnt bother.
