LewisR I've been told by the GM dealer (since Im from Mexico and the Opel Astra is sold by GM) that they use a certain chemical to clean the engine. My 2.2 engine needs some cleaning so anyone konws what can be used to clean the engine? any tips what does the vauxh dealer use to clean the engine? any help? cheers Lewis
Matt When you say "clean" the engine....do you mean: a) Just giving the engine a once over, to make it nice and shiny, ie the whole engine bay b) or cleaning the actual "engine" itself, ie cleaning throttle body
LewisR I mean make it nice and shiny, the whole engine bay. I just want to avoid spraying water all over it If possible, is there any product that can be used instead of water? there are electrical wire harnesses all over the engine bay, so I guess it would not be so smart to spray water. cheers Lewis
bertonedan i use autoglym machine cleaner and power washer cover all electricals up in plastic bags spray machine cleaner on remaining items power wash off, being careful to avoid electricals ie battery PS i always have the engine running when doing this
