High RPM

Hello every body..

I have 2001 vectra b 2.2 l, the problem is when starting the engine after a few hours of being off RPM needle jump to about 2000 rpm :eek: and start to go down slowly until 750 rpm, I know that its a normal operation but to reach 2000 or even 2100 rpm is too much.. it wasn't like that🙁.. the problem starts after cleaning the electronic throttle body.. I restarted the ECU by disconnecting the (-) cable of the battery.. but nothing changed:cry:.

I am worrying:nailbiting: because when the engine starts with high RPM I here a rough sound for the engine for a second..not healthy for the engine..

What to do pleeeeease..(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)

Note(y): I have a cracked exhaust manifold..

The crack wont help, but if I was you I would disconnect the battery over night, the throttle body and ecu needs to learn its airflow again.

So you have to drive it steady for a few days

I had to do it when I got a polished and ported throttle body.

It could also be the idle control valve. I think they have them fitted but I may be wrong

no idle control valve its part of the t/b non serviceable

sounds like an air leak, check the seal is still located correctly underneath the throttle body
