Or rather my son is picking it up this week,its a 56 plate 2007 model. Nice car but has lumpy idle which disappears when revs raised. Im assuming throttle body clean and/or EGR blanking will assist with this. Im a former RX8 owners club member, hope this site is as helpful (im sure it is) I currently drive a BMW 330d M sport but think about a Monaro (a lot)
Any advice/thoughts on the lumpy idle would be great

Welcome to the site. High pressure fuel pump is a common fault I believe.

im sure it causes said fault.

get a op-com so you can check fuel pressure.

Turns out its the number 2 O2 sensor (not in the manifold), and the engine is using too much fuel. Whats the GM part number for this also once fitted does it need an ecu reset or the bloke with the scanner called it a "scope" which needs an hour

I believe the part # is: 93184701 (but it may depend on your VIN number). It's a pricey part !

If the EML light has come on it may have stored a code, in which case it will need clearing, otherwise once fitted you can disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes, then reconnect and the ECU should relearn new parameters for a hundred miles or so.

NB - Make sure you have your radio code from the carpass before you disconnect the battery.

Thanks for the reply, vauxhall wanted £145 but ive sourced one via a factors at £64. There is/was no fault code, i checked the car for codes with a hand held scanner pre sale. The lad that scanned it today recommended this procedure post fitment would take an hour to do (no charge as a mate) but i thought an ECU reset would suffice.

This is still an issue, EML has come on and when read showing a misfire between 1+2 and a O2 sensor fault. We replaced the manifold sensor a few months ago and plugs, would I be right in thinking a misfire would also cause the O2 sensor fault to show up i.e the misfire is messing with the emissions?
Im thinking of changing the coil pack next and have one sourced virtually new (Bosch) for £40
.
The car runs well other than on idle when it is rough as a dogs arse, petrol consumption is good and drives fine through the rev range, any more ideas please

Just had a phone call from my lad, spanner light then loss of power for a couple of miles before it gave up the ghost and wouldn't restart. Any ideas on what it may be please, at a loss right now and its his pride and joy.

Hi I had the same problem ages ago could be the fuel pressure sensor if it starts again after leaving it for a bit other than that High pressure fuel pump.

Hi i drive a 2.2 direct xp and E.M.l light came on and wouldnt rev over 2000. AA guy came out found misfire in 3 and p1191 error code got coil pack replaced and new fuel pressure pump its going again. But mine is drinking fuel and oil like there's no tommorow!
