Speedo sensor location?

My speedo isnt working.

Anyone know where the speedo sensor is located?

Sorry its an astra van with a z22 but i think i found it on the nsf hub 🙂 I was looking on the gearbox

Yeh. Just got its MOT today after the swap. Now all the fun stuff can start. Still cant get the speedo working though 🙁

If everything's plugged in as it should be I'd check the ns front hub there's a plug for the sensor and id put my money on either the plug needs cleaning or has a damaged corroded wire or you need a new hub bearing. at one point my speedo kept randomly going up and down and I found it was the actual wires from the engine loom to the hub that had corroded and giving a dodgy reading if yours is not working at all then double check the loom is okay if it is its probably the wheel bearing as the sensor is built in.. hope this helps

Haha. Factory moron red, I like it.

I may have cut the loom off thinking it was abs related when I did the swap. I managed to leave myself enough wire to put a couple of crimps on and slide them over the terminals on the sensor side. Pretty ghetto I know but was clutching at straws. Needless to say it didn't work

Gonna get the proper plug for it and wire ir up see if that helps. If not, then new hub and sensor and if that still fails then a fresh set of wires into the cabin

I very much doubt any repairs to the sensor loom will work I tried with the exact length and size wires as standard and no joy so I had to replace the loom from the engine loom to the abs hub plug it was cheap and only about 12 inches long as it plugs into the engine loom from the inner arch

I can't paste the Web link for some reason but this is the eBay item number for the loom 271711325280 if there's nothing wrong with the loom on your van then it's more than likely a new hub however if you have or can get ipcom that should tell you

Abs hub plug you say. Could not putting the abs onto the van have something to do with it?
