when the chains are being chained is there anything to look out for

My crank oil seal was leaking so if its not in the kit id get 1

i swear i read something about making sure everything behind the chains are clean etc

The threads all want to be cleaned before bolts are fitted that hold the guides and tensioners on etc or you can over tighten and pull threads, I missed the part where the chains were fitted to mine so id say carl is the best to answer.

It depends what it's like obviously the cleaner the engine is the better. I was lucky mine is almost pristine inside. If any of the guides were broken they will fall into the sump so taking that off would be necessary if all is intact then change the chains make sure there's no crude oil around the chains in the sump and rocker cover. If it's pretty clean then don't worry just put the chains on and service if regularly 🙂

i would like to hope that the garage would have a look anyway but just like to know for myself what to look out for
also be thinking of doing that terra clean was it on the tv program wheeler dealers

I would hope so yeah however I've never been one to trust garages tbh
if you do the terra clean thing it would be good to see what happens I've read good things but heard awful things too so I really don't know about it.

Big jobs = done by @[deleted] as only one i trust and know its done right.

Little jobs= done by garage next to my place of work free of charge. As we give them a lot of miss fuel jobs.

well at the moment i wish i never took my van there as they aint listing to what iam saying i said they need to swap all the loom over but all that have done is the engine loom but not the interior but they have done the transponder etc and the with the chains that aint listened so im bit hacked off with it all to be honest

I got a full kit from ebay it was a gen gm one came with all the bolts new crank seal and new gasket

couldnt help it i had to go and see my van they were just finishing my exhaust off there was a couple of things that didnt work like my rear boot because it been smoothed and it open on the rear wiper but since the coupe dont have rear wipers i have to buy a release kit so i can open the boot and a few other things that i need to buy nothing major

Have u herd it run? Lot quieter after chains being fitted?

yeah started it up with no issues bit loud to nite as the exhaust he half done
