They were 38 quid mate for the barings including the guide bearing 5 in total 🙂

this is the build thread.

Things have moved on a little so best solution for the trigger wheel (i would have been told this near the beginning im sure)

But get a z22yh crank with trigger wheel n fit it in the engine, dont mess about with external trigger wheel. Or if u do let me know cos mine will be coming off soon.

Not much happened with the vectra lately

but just purchased all the crank/conrod bearings for the z22yh crank.

And the uprated monster front guide bolt upgrade.

ok, i have chain kit, bearings, big ass front guide bolt, oil, filter (again after about 500 miles) YH crank
lightened flywheel
clutch etc etc etc.

so im gonna need torque settings for the conrod caps, cradle etc etc.

any links available? thanks guys.

I think i have seen a picture by carl where he used the old chain gripped in mold grips to stop the sprocket from turning while you loosen bolts
So i don't think you need any special tools. The bolts on my water pump sprocket needed very little effort to loosen up, i think they were close to falling off.

I don't like the fai parts, but other swear by them.
no need for special tools if engine is getting new chains, only if doing just water pump. I made a tool to hold sprocket when I did mine.

I believe a new water pump kit comes with a sprocket (and gaskets) so you don't have to worry about detaching the sprocket and it turning. As the balance chain will already be off you can just remove the water pump fixing bolts and then remove the water pump assembly complete.

I think one time Carl may have used grips on an old balance chain wrapped around the balance shaft sprockets to remove the bolts, so you could try this when you do the 'balance shaft delete' (if the bolts are really tight).
