Dave_Gilbert I just asked for pics on the inbox, dont worry iv seen them now hahaha, that looks amazing. now to the powder coaters or do I just bolt it on..... oooooo im so excited . looks brilliant. Thanks mate
Dave_Gilbert I wouldnt know but as long as it holds the oil in im not fussed hahaa. Thanks mate. Love it
dewismotorsport Oil won't get past seal and outers sealed so was pointless really as them channel bits can disappear fast with heat of Tig so want worth the risk
Dave_Gilbert So a small piece of the puzzle has arrived today. not needed but abit of bling for me, not my first choice(that never turned up) but for less than £5 Its quite nice any idea how to pipe it up On a turbo
dewismotorsport Got the same in coupe, does the job. It's just a vacuum off the inlet manifold or throttle bodie Edited due to brain fart :poop:
Dave_Gilbert Just looking at pipe for the boost gauge. Looks like 4mm is common on ebay but the fitting is what size did you use @[deleted] cheers
TFD Drill and tap a barbplug into the intake manifold and take it off from there. Turbo housing and TB will only see boost but no vacuum reading (i.o.w. a take-off before the TB). Since it sees vacuum take a thickwall hose to prevent collapsing during vacuum or boost. This will make it a bit harder to put the hose over the barb but you can help that by heating the end a bit with a lighter or so.
Dave_Gilbert Iv allready ordered the pipe, it just said internal diameter of 4mm so I hope its thick enough. I will look into fitting.
Dave_Gilbert New boost gauge bezel for the middle vent. and 14 reconditioned rocker cover bolts, thanks alot @[deleted] primed, painted and lacquered.
Dave_Gilbert Test fitted the gauge in the binicle in the spare vent Off the donor car. Looks ok to me.
Dave_Gilbert Got the last few parts I think I need for the turbo to commence. Woop woop. Fuel pump with return(not sure if mine has it or not) Return fuel pipe(mine hasnt got this) And the flexi of the net exhaust which fits over my exhaust so its slightly bigger but I think I can get away with it. gonna start bolting bits on this week. Just waiting on the rocker cover coming back.
Dave_Gilbert So its only taken 40 pages to get to the build stage(not bad I dont think for a first time job) First part fitted today. Hopefully fitting the boost gauge tomorrow night. Not much else I can fit without the rocker cover. alot more work than i thought it would be but easy when you know how.
Dave_Gilbert All fitted up as it should be except a small mod on the bottle thing for the aircon, just need some short N thin bolts to mount it up as its had to move ever so slightly but as you can see theres 3 radiators. So exciting
Dave_Gilbert Today is the day....... Im gonna start stripping the car tonight and be building over the weekend. But cant complete as no news on my rocker cover yet 🙁
Dave_Gilbert As soon as possible. Danny mark hoofe on z20net facebook page is doing it. He said he should be around in the next week or so
