Just bought Vectra B 2.2i 16v and a few Q's

Hi,

Just bought a 2002 Vectra B 2.2i 16v and have a few questions/issues...

1: When i put the key in and turn the ignition on i hear a strange chattering noise. Also sometimes when driving it feels like its missing slightly , sometimes. Any idea?

2: The interior light/vanity light doesnt work , a cheap fix?

3: I'm going to service it tomorrow , i already have Mobil1 oil but was wondering which spark plugs are best to get?

4: The car has had new discs and pads all round according to the previous owner , and ive had a look and they do indeed look newish but the handbrake only works right at the top and the braking feels poor all round. Any idea?

5: The rev counter is under reading. On tick-over its almost at the bottom at about 200rpm. The engine sounds fine so it isnt actually ticking over at 200 rpm How would i fix this?

The interior light could be a bulb or a fuse

The chattering is this when you start the car if so sounds like the chain

The hand break sounds like it needs the hand break shoes adjusting

Hi,

It doesnt chatter when i start , i mean when i put the key in and turn the ignition so the lights come on. I was thinking it might be something to do with the fuel pump? Does this car prime the fuel before starting?

Think so mate but all you should hear is s faint buzz sound you might have a problem with the fuel pump

Yeah i think i may have. Ive also added another issue i have on the main question.

GM plugs are just about as good as any you can buy off the shelf in my opinion....unless you going up a grade!
your brakes may need bleeding and the cable tightening up to the handbrake!
Could be your clocks themselves reading wrong!
