I'm going to be getting this tensioner hopefully to send back to them for investigation.

Point to note, it's not one I supplied, but fitted around the same time as Dave's, so could be a batch fault.

Is it me or do the guides look alot more yellow than mine?

FAI are quite a big company(id say) so im sure they will reconise the fault and maybe do a recall before any serious damage is done. Iv used FAI chains on corsas and had no problems

FAI are a good company, their gaskets tend to be very good, but when it comes to timing chains I would rather use OEM, especially when you can source OEM for similar money 😃

Big respect for carl for sorting it, yes it was a last minute decision to do my balancer chain and I went for fai, wish I'd gone with oem in the first place obviously. At least my main timing chain is still oem and from here and all was well when this was investigated.
Thing is I just got all this sorted and then my gearbox cable snapped on the way home from Carls. Had to limp 40-50 miles home in second duh!
