"What you've said about the CD70 is basically true. Has to be divorved from the car it's fitted to using Tech2 and put back into delivery mode, then married up to the replacement car - again with tech2.
The easiest way to see if the Vectra is full canbus or only halfcanbus is the buttons on the steering wheel.
6 buttons, and it's halfcanbus.
4 buttons and 2 scroll wheels, and it's full canbus.
A CD70 will only work in full canbus cars."
