Hi can anyone help Iv got a z22se wiv a panel filter new iridium plugs new oil n filter cat back exhaust n new cat etc and I'm still lacking in power any other things that can cause this

We have seen stretched chains causing lack of power, by the cams being out of timing I believe.(dont quote me on it as im not 100%)

Have you got a pre cat? If so get rid of that.

No eml light isn't on everything seems fine other than lagging power in the rev range its like I'm waiting for a build up of turbo boost that's not ever kicking in lol

The guy who I bought it off claimed the chain was changed but Iv owned it two year now so could b due a change its only just hit 70k on clock and its a 2001 model all has bin well wiv Chain so far touch wood lol its always bin oil changed n plugs etc regardless of cost just never bothered wiv chain as my machanic said ifserviced should b ok to a hundred thou if it was done at 56k wen I bought it but I can't b sure if it was done then

pre cat is very much worth getting rid of.. this could sound daft but what petrol you using?? normal unleaded or v power??

alos worth trying get a bottle of forte or cataclean been told that will help...

Ive never had issue with lack of power etc ask @[deleted] when he was following me to pvs lol.But when the pre cat was removed and the air box was derestricted i could tell a difference as it rev even better. My coupe a 2001

It shouldnt be the chain then at 70000.

@[deleted] your car is much lighter than mine and I had 4 people in mine aswell hahaha. But yeh yours goes well.

Don't want to sound daft but I'm using normal unleaded n Iv used v power also and it gives more sound and pulling power on v power but the fuel goes by by real quick lol thinking of a remap n egr blanking n see were go from there were is the pre cat thought they were only the cat on the down pipe

There's a cat at the top of the downpipe where it bolts direct to the manifold

Thanks guna have a try at getting it out and also have the chain looked at to c if its out of timing or stretched loose

Does it rattle on start up?
Specially on cold mornings?

I think if its stretched you can see its stretched on the cam sprockets, I think anyway.

you would only have to take the rocker cover off and a spark plug out.

Wheres @[deleted] ? He should be able to tell you more.

Take the cam cover off check the tension between the 2 cam pulleys

Supposedly a faulty coolant sensor can effect running.
For the sake of a £10 part its worth trying.
