Matt So from today, we don't need to display a tax disc in the windscreen. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/88361/bye-bye-tax-disc-uk-vehicle-excise-duty-road-tax-changes-explained
Dave_Gilbert Just another money making activity. You tax a car n then sell on the 25th of the month you loose the whole month(not a big deal only 5 days) but the person buying it has to back date to the beginning of the month so they loose 25 days road tax and the dvla get paid twice for 1 month. Hmmmm.

Hmmmm. I thought exactly the same when I read all the details about it.
Dave_Gilbert And rhink of the car dealers Last month they had cars with tax to sell on. Now no tax. And small dealers from home selling 1 or 2 a week/month who keep there cars on the road. Cant do that any more
Matt Both mine and Amy's expires at the end of this month, so going to be the first time we use the new system. Wonder if they will let me spread the cost by direct debit for £20 😉
Matt The DVLA said that an extra 30,000 people had visited the site, compared to the same day last year. Surely they should have a rough estimate of how many people they are expecting, given they are the ones who know when all the road tax runs out!
