Fitting Cruise control to Zaf A auto?

What's needed to get cruise control on my Zafira A Z22SE 2003?

best thing to do is remove the cowling around the stalks and look to see if you have the plug for the cruise stalk
you will also need the clutch switch if the plug is there

It's auto = no clutch.

may have some connection to the auto box ecu to mimic the clutch
i would still see if it had the plug

Just had a look - it's there, taped to the main plug cable.
By the way, Carl, thanks for all the help and info given in other threads. I've just replaced chains and head. Started first turn of the key!

Just fitted a cruise stalk tonight. Worked straight out of the box, no programming required.

Mine will be a Zafira B Auto I guess everything is there apart from the stalk, Did you need Tach 2 or OfCom to do this?

No, just plugged it in and it worked straight out the box. Might be due to being auto, didn't need clutch switch programming in.

I got Zafira-A 2002 manual. So, in order to get CC, I need to install "clutch switch" and new "indicator stalk" with CC buttons? After that some programming is needed? :rolleyes:

OK, I removed plastic cover and found square connector with 4 pins taped to the cable of the indicator stalk. So there are connector for that. Didn't checked for clutch connector yet. However looks like it will be possible to fit CC there?

Should be OK. Clutch switch plug should be tucked up above the pedal arm - may be taped up by the brake switch. Or, if you're very lucky, it's there already! :notsure:

So, there are switch at the brake pedal? Now just need to look for clutch cable? I did a little research on internet, and some versions said there should be brake switch fitted aswell.. or is it the same switch that gives the car rear brake lights?

There are two possible types of brake switches fitted - a 2 pin (which just activates the brake lights) and a 4 pin which additionally deactivates cruise control.

As your Zaf is 2002, it is most likely to have the 4 pin switch already fitted - but worth a check.

The clutch switch connection cable that Timbo mentioned above should have a 2 pin white connector.

Yeah man, just checked literally minutes ago. Removed plastic cover and found 2-pin connector, with round pins. However the heating tube is in the way for a clear look. Is it possible to remove it somehow? Or better don't touch?

I believe the lower heating duct is held in place by plastic retainers (expanding rivet type).

Right mate, removed the heating duct and took a look at brake switch, it had a bunch of wires connected to it. So I'm sure switch is OK.
Now to the part shop.. 🙂

Fitting the clutch switch is rather awkward as you usually have your head in the footwell looking upwards and it can sometimes be a bit disorientating.

And the sill in your back. Been in that position in too many vehicles. A head torch can be useful.
