rough idle

Hi all

Yesterday when I stopped on a red traffic light with my 2.2 vectra b the engine starts shaking (hesitating) 🙁🙁, but when driving again.. no problem 🙂.. just when stopping🙁.. I parked the car for four hours and when I started the engine again .. no hesitation:LOL: wooooow... but after minutes of driving when I stopped on a traffic light it starts to hesitate again:facepalm::facepalm: any ideas please

Do you mean a rough idle
It sounds like it could be egr or coil pack related or because of your cracked manifold or it could be all of them combined you just need to eliminate 1 by 1 starting with the cheapest option

Yes rough idle..
I checked the egr, its ok, today I drived the car with no problem..but what do you mean with the coil pack??(n)

The bit on top that plugs onto the top of the spark plugs . The black rectangle bit in the centre of the silver rocker cover you need to check for a spark at each separate coil

Thanks, I will check it, but does that mean that the spark plugs may be bad also??

No it means one of the coils is bad. as long as you know the spark plugs are new and working properly test each coil with a good plug touch a piece of metal to or close to tip of spark plug if it creates a spark it is good if not then it is faulty which means you need to change coil pack. your coil pack will not last forever and at some point it may need changed just like most car parts
