Astra Coupe verde green engine rebuild

hi so on April the 1st i got my verde green astra coupe 2 months after owning it i had a miss fire code flash up. took another 2 months to fined out the head had cracked an was leaking water in to pot 4 after changing sensors plugs and then finally came to try a new coil pack to fined the plug holes covered in coolant. so off came the head and on went a new one. the problem had been fixed yey. but a big but the water had damaged the bottom end so off to zzp to import all the new gm parts.as it about £150 cheaper to import the engine rebuild parts than it is to buy them in the uk. in the next week i will be striping my new 2.2 with only 45.000 on it why waiting for the parts from zzp arrive there in uk customs as we speak. here some pics

so got the engine on the stand and spent ten mins taking the top end off

and then this arrived from the usa zzperformance

gm adhesive x 2
timing chain kit + balance shaft kit + znet tensioner
gm rod bearings
gm main bearings
hastings piston rings
zzp viton valve seals
gm timing cover gasket
all for £340 including import tax

all built up now and got a nice present for the engine off mr pots.

so the full build is

new low mile crank re polished with new ACDelco (GM) main bearings
z22yh rods and pistons with Hastings piston rings & new ACDelco (GM) rods bearings
re honed cylinder block & balance shaft delete
skimmed and chemically cleaned head fitted with e85 valve seals
gm timing chain and gen 3 tensioner
all gm or ACDelco gaskets including gm head gasket and head studs now
weapon R manifold 4-2-1
de restricted air box k&n panel filter 3" inlet pip
full egr delete including vw bung in inlet manifold

owww wnd green paint adds extra 20 bhp lol

Great progress but I was under the impression the weapon R wouldn't fit the Astra?

it does once you remove the ac pipes and move the fuel lines from what ive been told 🙂

any think will fit if you try hard enough
