Just picked up a 2001 Zafira cheap, though not quite cheap enough! The car is tidy enough and with only 66k on the clock, seemed like an opportunity missed if I didn't have a punt...
Ok, I'm a trained mech, makes life a little easier (but not much lol). Zaffy came to me losing water and sounding a bit rattly, water was coming from the dreaded plastic connectors and o rings at the back of the heater matrix, not too bad a job on these as it goes. Rattle was due to the infamous chain tensioner issue, so using some helpful hints on here, changed timing and balancer chains, also none too scary a job.
Now for the fun! After the chain change, water leak number 2! This time from under the water pump. Having not noticed a water pump change procedure on here, will happily provide one if it proves useful to anyone, going to attempt with no exhaust manifold removal.
