Mk4 ibiza steering wheel controls just stopped

This happened yesterday, worked one minute stopped the next both sides.

The horn works as few mentioned on the web a steering wheel module, the stereo hasn't been touched so can not see how any connections have come out of the back.

Any ideas?

Best bet is to get it plugged in si, with vcds or at a dealers. u'll be clutching at straws otherwise

Cheers pal got VCDS lite, not sure if that scans audio. Otherwise will get booked in at stealer but they want £80+vat just to look at it before any work.

Where about's are you Si? From what I know VCDS does read audio, not sure on the Lite though. I have the latest version which does can bus cars too.

Well took it to a VW / Seat specialist, he seems to think it requires both buttons replacing but can not 100% confirm it then came the price £265 inc vat for genuine parts then labour.

I am thinking is it worth while buying a second hand steering wheel with controls or is there another module?

I also got the handbrake adjusted but now it seems firmer but deff only pulls up on one side why would this be @[deleted]

Well looks like I will have to go to stealer! Radio code in the book won't work and headunit is locked out!

Anyone want to guess what I am going to get charged to get headunit code and maybe steering wheel controls working?

My guess £480

Plus the £50 I wasted today to get a handbrake so called adjusted that doesn't work, pi$$ed off isn't the word!

Well bought some stereo keys to remove the unit myself guess what, one side is cabbaged can not get the bloody thing out at all, pulled the lower tray out to gain access but still no joy I am going to have ago tomorrow it will be coming out one way or another.

Why can not jobs be easy?

Anyone have any advice how to pull this thing out?

Maybe Matt of just the stealer, spoke to source sound and they said if I was keeping OEM go to the stealer.

Head unit was pulled out Sunday, had to make some tools to get at the bent and twisted clip that someone rammed in at some point, managed to get the serial and send it off to a great dealer that I have used before and bingo I have sound 🙂 and head unit refitted. Steering wheel controls still don't work but hey ho!
