should i get my cam chain done

Recently bought a vectra c 2.2 six car runs OK apart from not being as nippy as I thought it would be but still better than my last car(vw Passat 1.9tdi). My question is should I get the can chain replaced as it has done 116000 miles and there is no record that it has been done and am wondering if getting it done will improve the performance of the car as well as give me piece of mind

having the chains done has shown improvements in engine mpg and nippiness 🙂
vauxhall stated that 10 year or 100k miles for the chains change interval if they have not been done or you're concerned that they have not been done getting them done would be peice of mind for the future

there are some parts of the chain kit that are plastic and as we all know after time plastic can become brittle i believe this is the reason vauxhall set the 10 year interval

cant say ive seen the need to change the waterpump yet
it is better to both chains at the same time saves having to take it all apart again to just fit a balancer chain

Is there anyone in the west Yorkshire area or maybe Lancashire that does them as not really wanting to pay Vauxhall to do it if possible not sure I would trust them to do it anyway

im 127 miles away prolly closer than the other guys
going to vx will cost you quite alot so ive been told 🙂
