thanks 🙂 there the same diameter as the lucas caliper 38mm there is a 40mm piston version but im not sure what its fitted to as standard or new/old type some difference in revisions maybe
there is also a solid disc version that has a shorter caliper and carrier

heres the only info i could find on the pistons

cars been on axle stands since last thur night
im waiting for the stainless lines to come then get them fitted and bled ive set up the hand brake tonight so thats working

i had driven it with one side and it did not pull to one side or anything it seemed better with just one lol

made some new copper lines

and the pipes are on just the bleeding step

but i may fit the vectra VXR front pipe now too as there a little longer than the ones i have atm and there tight at full lock

i currently have man flu and im so pissed off with it had a total of 3 nosebleeds today the 3rd one was a gusher took best part of 10min to get it stopped i was getting a bit worried i mean who the fk gets flu when they're on holiday for 2weeks!!!!!!! !!!! !!!!

fitted the front lines too there about 2" longer than the ones that were on so no more pulling
just need to bleed the fronts then do the clutch and im set 🙂

bleed the whole system clutch to then took it for a drive hand brake works fine but got a sinking pedal with the engine running @[deleted]
is there something i'm missing with the one man bleeding system ? got no air at any bleed nipples just real poor pedal

they work for now 🙂 going to get dad to help me do a manual bleed later
think they're going to be better once there bedded in no more dipping at the front

suspected Master cylinder seals :confused:
its booked in to vx for a fluid change in the morning will see what becomes of it

had the pedal down with a bar

and a vacuum applied to the fluid reservoir its been holding 20hg for about 2hours

back from VX they did a full bleed thru
its back to working fine sharp brakes at the top of the pedal again and the sinking pedal is normal :S 🙂

Most Vec C's peddles do it to be honest, especially the CDTI's (Diesel Creep). However the most common mistake is to put the callipers on the wrong side so the bleed nipples end up on the bottom not the top so trapping air, but ive only ever seen this on the front callipers not the rear.

Really (it's not that I don't believe - it's more amazement), you'd have thought if someone was replacing and bleeding their brakes, they would know of the basic bleeding principles......

Ha, yes mate, its one of the first thing people do, replace there 285's with V6 314's so there's plenty of muppets that put them on upside down. Other than the bleed nipple there's no difference in the caliper.

yeah i heard of the calipers on the wrong sides lol
its strange as the car never has limpy pedal before not that i remember anywho must be the vacuum pump
to of the guys at vx said it was common on the vectra c and the new insignias and they had lots of reports of it
