yes i normally use 2k primer in the gun but had etch primer in a can so used it so save mixing far to much primer for the gun
ive had to cut one of the skirts right back as whatever type of paint i try to use i gets under the lower layers and causing wrinkles done me fucking head in
ive don't normally have problem with the layers
2k primer 4:1 + 50% standard thinners - base color + 50% standard thinners - top coat 2:1 + 10% 2k thinners

but after trying to fix a bit i tryed the 2k primer 4:1 + 50% standard thinners = caused the reaction and then tryed 2k primer 4:1 + 50% 2k thinners = caused the reaction

whats done my nogen in ive just cuit it back with the layer lines showing and gone over half of the skirt with 2k primer 4:1 + 50% standard thinners over the same area and now its not reacting wtfff must of been polish or something else on there

popped one on the car to check color before fixing the runs looks like its just the right shade 🙂

heres the area i was having trouble with it kept lifting so murdered it back to plastic with a 240grit pad and the das6

after priming and guide coat you can see the paints not lifting here with primer on top of the layer edges

color going back on you can see the primer fade in the middle

both done at the same time

found an issue with the lacquer that i knew about before but forgot to check it came with fast hardener that runs i normally use express and have no trouble so pulled out a can of express and tried again

well that will have to do 🙂

I think 50% thinners in primer is a bit much this could be causing your reaction . Use as little thinners in your primer as possible , it can even be done without thinners just a little extra hardener as long as primer is capable of being sprayed.
The thicker the better. even use the rocket/accelerator instead of thinners this is only a small capful and helps with drying mega fast in hot weather sometimes a little too fast so careful you don't get caught out and primer starts to go hard while still in gun that's how fast drying can be in good temperatures

thing is its high build primer was told at the paint suppliers when i asked to add thinner to not make it so much of a high build
all i want the primer to do is give it a base and change the color like the spray can stuff not put so much on the part weighs more, trying to keep the original shape just weird how it happened
i keep meaning to add rocket to my shopping list lol have seen some right fuckups with it tho it drys so quickly the paint splits (cracks) prolly why ive not bought any yet

Trick is to put plenty on so that once you have done all your rubbing there is still primer on the area you primed and you do not rub through the primer and expose the area underneath again .This can cause the reaction cause with too much thinners it will eat into that paint you tried to cover with primer and cause the cracking Recommended is 10% max thinners in primer. a light guide coat of a different colour over primer will let you know when you have rubbed enough off or not ,cause you might think you have sanded enough but the guide coat will show some scratches that need more sanding to remove or maybe a kind of fried egg shape round a cataloy repair which the guide coat will highlight . so with your primer and a guide coat after, once its dry and with all your sanding there will not be any heavy amounts of primer left on panel just the right amount. 320 or 400 grit to take down primer and then 800 grit for a really smooth finish(y)

i do like the guide coat 🙂

strange how there were no ill reactions of the 2k primer 4:1 + 50% thinners here even tho i broke thru to the lower layers

and then base color +50% standard thinners on top of 2k lacquer and 2k primer :S so confused about that part

well there dry 🙂

few lumps and bumps flatted with 2000 grit wet and dry

then polished back to a shine with the rotary and g10 dry

i do like this color 🙂

i dont think you can tell its been sprayed 🙂

just waiting for the gm fitting kit off ebay got no pop studs left 🙁

It looks well done now with a nice shine . i was a bit late with the info but i suppose it could help out @[deleted] as he is about to paint his bumper
You not gonna sort that dodgy wing with the colour slightly out if you have good colour matching paint now
