Evo's Astra coupe 2.2 star silver

so ive bought myself a 2nd coupe to play with 🙂

the thing is the engine was past its sell by date and suffered a catastrophic failure
it had to be towed home by D,A,D recovery services lol

got it home safe and sound

and heres the D,A,D driver lol shogun had no problems even with me on the handbrake lol

shortly after getting it home the strip down started

rocker cover off the top chain guide had lost its plastic part and the front rail had snapped and disappeared

hmmm normally the crank is on the inside lol

fluids out

removing the inlet and other parts

its a good old chunk missing

some pics of the interior

fronts its a bad pic lol

paint work on the roof

after removing the head i was surprised to see there was no damage

the valves were all untouched

so much for 2 up and 2 down lol

the new bottom end next to the old one

chain end

new head gasket on

next step fit the cleaned head and fit the timing gear 🙂

alternator was not working so put the one on that i repaired some time back

going in

14.2v and the power steering now works 🙂

ready for a test drive and a wash 🙂

car got me to the jet wash 🙂 its nice and smooth unlike mine thats firm
