Metal Door Sill Trims - Bringing them back up..

Has anyone got any idea of how to bring these back up to at least better than they are right now!

Are they just scuffed or have some sort of oxidisation?

I am wondering if they are lacquered or have a type of protective film on them and have water / oxidisation under it.

I am guessing you will wreck them by trying to remove them and working on them on the car could damage the area around them even if tapes off?

I may be tempted to see if you can replace.

If you can get them off or work in that area paint them or strip them and metal polish them back and re seal?

Yeah, if you take them off they will bend and warp.

They are also £££ from vauxhall... I believe they quoted me £140 or £70 a piece... cant remember!

Either way I said no thank you.

Maybe try and rectify them in place?

I was going to try some metal polish, then carl said they might be lacquered. So ill try and bit of normal polish or compound on a area out the way to see..
