the one thing that i remember about my ecu is the egr is shut off by vauxhall 🙂 and is not part of he map but on the ecu control side 🙂
might be worth comparing bin's mine to a normal one 🙂

My van has a 22se ecu but behind the dash there's another key and ignition barrel probably with a transponder I can't see without stripping the dash but to make this all as it should be I really can't get my head around what codes are needed and what I actually need to do.

To re code keys and ecu etc is it just the security code? Then I can surely use the chip and transponder behind the dash and use opcom to code them properly?
I'm confused? :confused:

the ecu has a 4 digit code used to add/remove transponders and reset the ecu
without the code entered theres not a lot to do but read and clear codes with op-com
im still not sure why yours has 2 barrels unless the 2nd is just for the key action
with the code you could tell the ecu to use the transponder in your key thats if the loom is intact

and now with vx being hit and miss with supplying the codes proof of ownership and all that this may be a nice cheap way to get your code 🙂

Whatever immobiliser ring is actually plugged and the transponder in the key to match are the ones you want and could probably get away without recoding anything.

I have a feeling that the barrel in place to start is not actually plugged in to the immo, it's just there with the function to start the car.

The other barrel that you can't see with a key in, that's the actual coded immo ring and transponder.

You should be able to swap immo rings around and transponders in the keys to have 1 correct set that will start the car and have the right immo ring an transponder coded.

You might not even need to get the pin to code anything in, only maybe if the transponders are different and need to code another one in.

You can use opcom to change the odometer reading without the security code on the Astra G 😉

Can you? I have tried a number of different Astra G's. Has never worked on any. Also tried Corsa C's too....?

Only been able to read but not actually write a new value..

Yes you can, I am able to do this on my coupe turbo. Clocks have to be VDO ones though afaik

So really I need to be brave and unplug the other barrel and plug the transponder into the actual ignition. Where in the key is the chip as it's just the blade and part of the plastic there's no remote part to the key behind the dash?

Also if I unplug the transponder etc once it's plugged back in will it be good to go or in code it self sounds silly but some new renaults need fully re syncing Even if the battery goes flat for too long

The barrel you use to start the car with the key, is probably not even plugged in. you just need to remove it, then you need to take the immo ring off this and put to one side.

Then you need to get the other barrel thats hidden, unplug the immo ring and remove the lot out the car.. Take the immo ring off this barrel and place on the other barrel you took out first which you used to start the car.

Put the barrel you have just put the immo ring on back into the car where it should go and plug the immo ring in.

The key I presume looks like this, with the immo transponder attached

Remove the transponder from this key and place into your normal key that starts the car, if there is already one there remove it and place to one side for safe keeping..

You should be all good now.
