Recon high pressure fuel pump

Anyone know if its worth buying a recon high pressure fuel pump for a 2.2 petrol vectra do they last cheers ajn

What price are they, I presume if its recon its an siemens not a continental one as its the older siemans that fails. New Continental ones are about £250 and diy to fit.

Sorry for delay rushy, yeah it was a seimens recon pump but still got the same symptoms after replacing so thinking about the fuel reg now, Ive got a e£ay contact who can do a new boxed regulator for £60 delivered, Ill relist the recon pump and sell it on. Cheers ajn

Quick rundown of problem, start from cold tick over and choke works fine tick over fine, take off all good until 3000/4000 revs then missing and bad exceleration until restart then fine intill it happens again ie out of corners or change gear uphill sometimes riding the cluch out of corners prevents it and a restart always works. Press gas peddle slow and it will rev right around while stationary,Ive put a recon high pressure fuel pump on no change. Cheers ajn

sounds like we have the same problem
when u press gas peddle slowly it will rev right round 6000rpm and if you hold it there and press the gas pedal hard does it drop down between 3000/4000 and backfire ???
