Burnzi Tuesday after noon mess around with my standard air box some of you may find it interesting filter is secure aswell with air box lid fitted havint started it yet tho letting the glue dry just a few ideas with the factory under bonnet look
Burnzi I already removed the intake cover and outlet trumpet inside the air box and the filter has been in my shead for a while so i thought id have a go at locating it inside my airbox didint think it would fit but its worked might attempt a perspex cover but it means destroying my airbox if i fail lol
Dave_Gilbert looks good, not sure how good it will be, i thought cone filters liked alot of air around them(iv never had 1 so not 100%) but a good idea, n still factory looking like you say.(y)(y)
milo U just made yourself a better version of the k&n 57s kit bud. Top job (y) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K-N-57s-Vauxhall-Astra-G-Mk4-2-2-F-I-Performance-Airbox-Filter-00-04-/380663360621?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item58a14dec6d
Burnzi Ive removed all the plastic pipes from above the radiator and fitted one pipe to the back of the grill on the bonnet to force air in a little bit (dave). going to get some decent hose tho and make it more permanent and cheers (milo) hopefully it wont be as loud as a open cone filter but should sound better than standard or pannel filter

Burnzi Well after nearly a week im sorry to report that the airbox is a fail car feels underpowered, air box sounds great but car just feels like its strugling and i struggled to out pull a nissan juke of all things on the way in to work the smorning t/c didint help like in the rain spinning up in second pannel filter and gsi intake on order now
rushy Have you tried fitting the tc button, early Vec c's like mine (53 plate) had all the wiring but no button. If you have a blue plug behind the dash blank you may just have to fit the button to turn your tc off. Works great in winter when your stuck in the snow.
Dave_Gilbert i didnt know that. im gonna have a look behind mine, mines a 52 which button is it? that needs pulling out to see the plug
rushy No the one in the pic, second up from the bottom. Use blue tack or tape to pull it off. The switch is about £10 from the dealer. I will say its hit and miss if it works, if you have the blue plug you could be in luck though.
Burnzi Yes i fitted the t/c button aquired mine from a gsi in the scrap yard didint know at the time if it would work but just tried and it did helps in the snow alot when you cant rev past 1500 when the wheels are spinning
