Dave_Gilbert Im refurbishing my own wheels at home with spray cans I BOUGHT THIS KIT OFF EBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271290200513?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 then went to a great shop localish to me and bought a few more filler primers, masking tape, sandpaper, sanding blocks etc. heres the start of the first wheel)i picked the worst 1 first they look good from about a ft away but still need more sanding down(iv got sanding marks where iv rushed) top tip Number 1: DONT RUSH top tip Number 2: make sure you mask the valve i can see why people get them chemical dipped and sand blasted, it would make the job so much easier.
Dave_Gilbert just put a little bit of the grey on to see how it covers the yellow primer and looks like it will cover well, but need to leave it untill tomorow now for the primer to dry properly so i can flat the sanding marks out then reprime and maybe get top coat on in the afternoon.
Sjdickso Looking good, always fancied doing some wheels but always bottled it and took them in to be done. I am surprised @[deleted] hasn't commented on the yellow high build primer lol
Dave_Gilbert i wouldnt use it normally but it came as a kit so why not. this is my first attempt at wheels so we will see if im paying someone to put them right in a few days

Dave_Gilbert iv tried alittle bit just to see how it covers n looks a nice colour. its worked quite well as a guide coat. im just wet n dry 1200grit sanding it back to get the sanding marks out. i know 1200grit is abit fine but its what iv got and its doing the job so it will do
Dave_Gilbert attempt number 2 on wheel number 1. only given it a light coat, as it was only to cover what i had removed wet sanding. iv used my special HD camera this time so we will see if its worth its money (bought it before xmas and this is the first set of photos i taken with it)hahaha
Dave_Gilbert that little bit of flatting back made a massive difference, i think i will give it a light going over tomorow before i start with the top coat TOP TIP Number 3: get the spray can nice and warm(i put it in a plastic jug with hot water) gives a higher pressure spray.
milo I bought one of these when I use spray cans, I found it a lot easier to control http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261376055166?nav=SEARCH
Matt Looking good so far Dave. milo said: I bought one of these when I use spray cans, I found it a lot easier to control http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261376055166?nav=SEARCH I've used those previously as well. I did find that it helped.
Dave_Gilbert carls idea for the cards so i cant take any credit for them but the sprayer looks good. may have to invest in 1

Dave_Gilbert so found a few little inperfections so had another coat of primer(gonna need more primer) TOP TIP Number 4: BUY MORE PRIMER THAN YOU THINK YOU WILL NEED so its just baking in the sun, n the suns bright today which is nice. n bought some new alloys for the corsa last night i think they are astra sxi/sri 16inch, there in excellent condition, 0% corrosion anywhere and only the odd mark, these are the front 2 wheels aswell(tyres are scrap) need a cleen and new tyres but nice.
