Clutch slip with new clutch!

I had a new clutch (genuine Vauxhall) fitted by a mate a few weeks back, at first the clutch slipped badly as he hadn't cleaned the glaze off of the clutch but this sorted itself out after a day or so. However the clutch is still slipping when I floor it in fourth or fifth gear, revs climb to 3.5k and the car accelerates but then the acceleration stops and the revs continue to climb. This doesn't happen every time and if I'm more gentle with acceleration I don't have the issue. I have had a search online, some say that the clutch takes a while to bed in whilst others seem to suggest it should bed in straight away. My car is supercharged so putting additional power and torque through the clutch but I was advised that the standard Z22SE clutch would be good for 280bhp (I only have 240ish).
I don't want to have to ask my mate to take the clutch back out again if unnecessary but do need to get this sorted in the next week or so as I go to Germany come the end of the month.
Any advice or experience is much appreciated.

did you take it steady for the 1st 500 miles ?
all clutches will take some time to bed in even tho they can be used right away
i give mine 500 miles of mixed driving around town and on runs but then mine will hold 600hp lol

only other thing i can think of is if the slave or pipe work is leaking oil on to the clutch making it slip

Generally as long as there are no leaks it's should bed in fairly fast, even a new flywheel that isn't key'd doesn't take long to bed in.

Are you 100% sure it's not your supercharger belt slipping?

that could be indicated with the boost gauge if its slipping the boost wont go up 🙂

Generally miles isn't relive my as you aren't constantly using clutch on motorway etc much better off giving it a bit of slip pulling off a few times to simulate it's bending in faster

thats on every page they sell a clutch on i trust there judgment as they made my clutch and the flywheel was never glaze busted

It should be more specified imo I could drive from Poole to Scotland say 500 miles on motorway and it may still not be bedded in if you understand my logic.

My helix 4 paddle worked perfect after could of quick slips, out of habit I always key the flywheel with 40 grit sand paper

yeah on a run the clutch plate never moves
they do send a little note in the box saying that it must be mixed driving ""around town and motorway"" prolly more like 300 miles to bed in but if they say 500 then its well covered if the car does long runs
mine has 2 x 4 puck clutch plates and 4 surfaces to bed in i was surprised at the difference once i had covered 500miles either that or i had just got used to the clutch pedal that is like the brake pedal

Yeah twin plate can be quite harsh generally not the best suited to road use but great on track though 😉

i find it quite easy now its still a bitch in traffic its like the bite point moves every time you pull away lol

Yeah I hate driving the Corsa on the road in traffic I'd rather get out and push it :eek:

Thanks for the advice people. Have done plenty of mixed driving which could explain the improvement. The boost levels appear to be as normal so I'll give it a fair few miles.

Could I have caused permanent damage if I've driven too hard initially?

Is all a bit frsutrating as the previous clutch was fine but the slave cylinder was leaking so had everything changed whilst the boz was off.

it wont be permanent damage it will just take more time to get it settled
is the bottom of you box wet on the engine to gear box face ?

Change the little black gizmo that clips into the slave cyl pipe work... had a similar issue with the wifes old coupe and the guy that had the engine and box out of it changed that part and it cured the slip

Also make sure the slave has been bled properly. Air in the system can cause issues.
