Gear shift bushing

Hey,

Had the idea to change the bushing for the gear shift. The old one was very used.
Everything was fine, until I found a little spring and I'm pretty sure where it belongs too, but it won't fit somehow :mad:🙁:banghead::meh:

Somebody has an idea perhaps?

I had the same problem when I disassembled mine, never put it back in and never had any issues either

it fits in the dog leg theres a ridge on the black base it rides in

Had the same when I did mine eventually worked out where it sat.

I have recently added the rebuild kit to mine and it worked a treat mine was really sloppy with loads of side to side movement. This is the kit I bought, just a turned down bit of alloy and half a ping pong ball but it works and it's cheap http://bit.ly/1nG2NZT

yeah i fitted the ping pong kit a few months back but only the alloy bar the half ping pong made no difference it was the dog leg that was sloppy on mine after driving me moms vec for the last few days then driving mine to the mot station yesterday there is hardly any movement in the gear stick while changing looks like the diy short shifter make all that difference 🙂

Ah mine was the opposite, my ball part was worn so mainly needed the half ping pong, but yeah rock solid now, already had the 888 short shift on there but agree that's a great mod in itself
