Mini,viewing, brown sludge

Went to view a mini one for my daughter today, had a general look over the car i.e pads,bushes,tyres,welds,lines and shape while I left it tick over all seemed ok, until I popped the bonnet, checked the expansion tank for coolant found dirty anti freeze, took the coolant cap off and the coolant was thick sludge and brown in colour I slid my finger around in the sludge looked at the guy who would have had no problem selling the car the car to my 20 year old daughter and said no thanks mate. What a pr#%k.ajn

Some suffered with radiators leaking (my misses one leaked) so no doubt seller had filled it full of rad weld

I think Ill send my mate around there ask to take it on a test drive and screw the nuts off it in 2nd, I can just imagine the rip off seller/trader sat there praying his dodgy cooling system bodge job holds out as he rams it into 3rd with a grin, I'm all for some buying and selling with the knowledge and skill to make a few quid but this guy is a pr#%k. iv never trusted car dealers, id rather buy private.

i allways go with at least 2 other car people so if i miss something at least 1 of my mates should see it.

n when you see something they dont think you will see its brilliant there reactions are allways the same. '' whats that, where, no it ant had paint'' or ''your kidding'' or ''that will polish out''

Your so right, the guy had 2 other cars giving it yeah the old I bought it for my wife and all the other blah blah,soon as I went to the coolant he was on his toes. No doubt someone will get ripped off though thanks for the replies. Ajn
