Both have one pedal for the brake and clutch and also a throttle hand lever but the laser has no brakes what so ever lol it just free wheels lol

they look great but the headlight rings are alittle rough(felling) could I lacquer them?

I hardly post my Renault anywhere as no one likes Renaults but sod it I love it and it's 2000x more reliable than anything else I've ever had I brought it for £90 as the first Ower never changed the cam belt so it snapped. Gave it a rebuild and 7 years later I rebuilt it again as I felt I owed it for all the hammering it's had lol th only thing that's ever failed is the tdc sensor which I found out was a recall it never had so was done for free so here it is my little 1600 beast lol r

As renaults go smithy, its nice, I dont like renaults overall but there are the odd few I would have in my collection if I had loads of money n a massive garage.

Id love a Renault 5GT TURBO RAIDER
and I do like that shame megane.

I'm a massive Renault fan tbh mate not the new ones the megane 225 is a beast but the best ones are the 21 turbo which is far better than the cosworth and quicker with less money spent but as it's not a Ford was never recognised the clio Williams and the 1.8 rsi where the nuts plus the clio sports up to the 182 and obviously the 19 16v was also brilliant in its day.
The thing no one ever realises about Renaults is there engines my y reg 1600 even when it was standard was quicker than my missus 07 fiesta zetec s which is meant to be a hot hatch the clio sport will leave corsa Sri and fiesta St standing the 19 16v was quicker than the astra gte and xr3i yet because there french there shit lol I used to work for Renault and okay the new ones are shit but up until 2003 they were brilliant cars
I love novas but a clio Williams is a different league to a gsi nova

Yeah I agree the newer renaults get the more plastic they get lol as do most cars I suppose my dad's 182 has had a couple of electrical issues with the abs light coming on and the climate control but it's all been simple fixes engine wise it's 100%

All my mates have clio 172 and 182's as track cars and there brilliant handling cars and go really well. Gearboxes are a bit chocolate and the electrics a bit dodgy with eml light always popping on and off but overall a great fun little car

i can confirm the r19 16v was quicker than the astra gte 🙂 the guy at merry hill who thought he was quick soon came over and asked what i'd dont to the car lol
i loved mine ..if there was a mint phase 2 about i would be quite happy to spend £2700 a year on it trying to keep it on the road like i had to with mine 🙂

Tell me about the gearboxes, that was one costly do for me a few years back! came off a slip road down changed and it all went Pete Tong gearbox proper blew and took out the engine as well. Got photos somewhere but it nearly wrote the car off.

See I've had loads of renaults and the only one that had a shit gearbox is the laguna I had I hammer the shit out of my megane it's done 128k on the original gearbox and clutch and it's fine I changed the clutch a month ago and the old one was okay worn but okay..
If I'm honest my van is money pit all 13 novas ive had were money pits the 2 astra gtes were money pits various cavs were money pits and that's without the constant rust problems but I've never had to spend a penny on a Renault. I actually prefer vauxhalls but I would never say renaults are french crap or unreliable. There isn't a month gone by were my van hasn't needed something this megane and the v reg I had a couple years ago haven't needed anything.

Everytime my mate uses his car a new light comes on or an injector fails :banghead:

Did a trackday Saturday and the pedal motor started playing up, quick fix with brake cleaner though thankfully

My Astra tbf has only wanted a small handful of parts to keep it going
