hi all z22 newbie in need

hi all my name is rich just registered im from northants
i have two mk4 astra's 1 old x20xev sri and 2nd is a z22se sri (i acquired yesterday) unfortunately my mate who owned the 2.2 tightened the 4th plug a bit tight lol

start to finish car was running lumpy no power he never tested the coil and just changed plugs with NGK LTR6B? not sure if they are correct yet anyway put it together started car still the same upon removing the coil pack water in 4th plug hole drained it only to return within 5 mins and header level was lowering.
im assuming cracked head from reading other posts so today i went on a mission removed the head
and cannot find a crack for the life of me, typical. Is there anything else that could cause same or am i right heads a goner?
also reading other posts about the heads i seen a Saab b207 head and z20net head may fit but what i cannot find is what mods these heads will need to fit?

b207 from what i been reading fits but need to change cams and mod the coil some how? is that all?

theres a lot of little bits that go in to fitting the b207/z20net head but there just as cheap to buy as the z22se heads

the plugs are the right ones i just looked on ngks web site

did you remove the plug from the head and have a look down the hole to see if its cracked thru the thread ?

Evocarlos I've looked with the plug in and out can't seem to find any signs of cracks but if I fill plug hole up with water with a plug in and blow on it the water comes out the waterways in bottom of the head I even dropped the valves to look In between lol

carson i think i seen you today 5door astra? by town i was in my silver astra

that's exactly what i thought vocky so give up on that head lol
but i may have come up trumps as i went to a local scrappy try my luck
low and behold a 2.2 astra coupe in blue with the blue and black 1/2 leather interior
shame some idiot cut all the seats apart that's exactly what i wanted :*(
but had a complete engine head still timed up removed the head within the hour lol
and only cost me £35 bucks!!! i know why the car was scrapped as there was a nice chunk of the piston missing could see the rings!
but head looks fine no damage so been stripped and is going for testing tomorrow hopefully put it back together next weekend 😃

that's the seats i wanted aswell was gutted until they told me price of the head then i thought i best leave sharpe ish lol
dont no why anybody would just randomly chop up such nice seats for no reason
rest of it looked really clean aswell hardly any wear

Rich my mate is breaking an astra coupe with the blue alacantra and black leather .the whole interior for 225 the drivers seat does have 4 little fag burns on the leg pull out bit and the seat .can get you pics uf interested
