Yeah decent job on the finger 😃

It has a series of plates underneath the top cover, exhaust gas hits the top cover and then out through the plates, it's tuneable so less plates more silencing effect, there is a recommended guide line for the amount of plates in accordance for power so once super charged I will add more plates.

I had a super trap on a dr350 I had, I never knew what it was or why it looked so weired so I chucked a micron superbike exhaust on it

It sounded loads better but didnt notice any power difference in either exhaust. But yours defo looks special.

Yeah a lot of motorbikes use them, and there really popular at track days to get the car under noise limits

Whilest off work the drop link holder decided to snap off the coilover and jammed in the wheel so I've bought some new ones and will get the damper off and make a new mounting tab for it to sit in

Also while I was clearing my dads house out I found an old sub and amp that I got with a car years back so decided to wire it in as I quite missed the extra bass at times, made it so it's easily removeable, just need to buy a switch so I can turn it off and on via the remote lead as tbh I don't really always want it on and not sure kids will be too keen either

Had a few drop links snap on me before but always in the middle, with yours been so low have you considered shorter ones?

Brings back good memories having a sub in the boot.

Only use GM ones or Delphi as there much better quality than cheap pattern parts. I had shortened ones but my coilovers have the tabs in the correct place so don't require them so removed them because once lowered the joints were at crazy angles.

Yeah having its a massive blast from the past and thankfully it's not too loud from outside the car so I don't look like a right chav at the traffic lights 😃

I only use named parts like Delphi or Items from the shop they have been fine, it was the cheap auction site ones that snapped.

Although I nearly class them as service parts and swap them every couple of years for what they cost.

Like you say nothing worse than sitting at some lights and the rear window rattling!

Decided to finally take the engine out and fit the bits I've been acquiring, so whipped it out

So far I've fitted a new clutch slave cyclinder, two new driveshaft oil seals, cool running thermostat, the lightweight flywheel and a newer clutch

While out I mixed up the expoxy resin and filled up two of the three main mounts, just ordered some more as the tape failed on the first attempt so I lost loads so ran out

Back in tomorrow to finish off

Back in today and whipped the chains off and removed the balancer shafts

Bearings pushed in 7.5mm and cut down balancer shafts fitted, annoyingly the FAI kit didn't come with the right guides (had two the same) so had to re use one and I also re used the GM bolts as the ones with it looked a bit Mikey mouse

All bolted back together and put in the car only to find the slave cylinder leaked on bleeding so out came the engine again, turned out to be the O ring on top of the pipe above gearbox but it had filled the gearbox so hard to tell but all cleaned out and check and re assemble and engine back in the car and bleed up again and it all worked with no leaks so will be back in tomorrow to re fit everything between watching the BTCC

Got it all back together and car feels more lively and responsive but had to remove the expoxy out of the gearbox side mount as it just vibrated too much through the car, so started chipping it out but pierced the rubber causing the oil to leak

So got a new one ordered and fitted and all is good, still a bit of vibration through the car with the front dog bone still solid but I will see if I can live with it. Took it on the test track at work and the engine no longer lunges forward and back under hard braking and acceleration so will feel better once on track next.

Tiger seal is on the cards for the dog bone mount as its still too much vibrations for me for a mainly road car, but hey ho I've tried it and it didn't work (y)

had a rattle in mine on the way home tonight narrowed it down to the tweeter the wire had come off inside and was touching the magnet making the tweeter click lol

the rear mount on mine it standard the front is the vibra-technics and the to side mounts are filled with pu18(aka tiger seal)

Cheers for the link, I'll smash the expoxy out today and if I've got some tiger seal I'll use that If not I'll order some

Decided I couldn't live with the dog bone mount being solid so I've smashed it out again and I'll fill it with tiger seal once some turns up at work

Decided to remove the tyre on the 19"s as I had a crack in one and it caused it to run flat and trash the tyre so made a start in a repair, forgot to take a before photo but ground a V into it and welded it up

And then just ground it back and it's as good as new, just need to order a new tyre now

did you know about drilling a hole at the end of the crack to stop it traveling ? i welded one of my old wheels up but it cracked again didn't leak but still cracked

Yes mate I used NDT spray to find the end and drilled prior to grooving it out
