That's true but with standard set up its not enough, the vx220 benefit from having a larger capacity coolant system so that must help with keeping it cooler but also still suffer eventually.

That is a benefit of the Dutch software but if I'm going to go aftermarket I will go for full stand alone and just convert to a manual peddle.

Kept an eye on my AFR gauge and it wasn't leaning off, tbh the CS makes are stupidly safe and easily 10% down on power due to the AFR's they run, I'm also not a huge fan of there drive ability as can stutter at times at low rpm and some of the cruising AFR's aren't the best either.

I find mine running spot on tbh. Hard to tell its got a charger fitted as it idle so smooth, cruises gr8 and pulls away with no issues. It takes off when u give it the beans as civic type r owner found out last night 😃.

But what i didnt want to happen has happen tho🙁 I want more power so going the forge route also.

I'm just comparing it to non remapped Ecu, my Corsa turbo has a smoother driving map imo and that's on Omex 600.

Power is always addictive, for me at the minute I want to improve it else where so not going extra power just yet, I want to concentrate on handling and cooling as adding more power at this stage will just create more heat

I have quite a few of the vx220 oilway blank thingys, however if you remove the saab oil cooler and blank it off you would create the same effect.

I think your spot on there that's also my plan I love power but once mines done before getting more power out of it I'd like to do make solid rose jointed drop links and try and get the bodywork lighter engine smoother and cooler imoa reliable 260-280bhp that grips and handles is better than 350bhp wheel spinning and struggling to stay cool

Lol I agree I just mean a solid 280 is better than a hot 350 going into limp mode

mine dont 🙂 and never has, people would say that i dont thrash fk out of it but i do
you get some bog down when theres no change cooling as i found before i fitted the cooling rad once the iats get high it makes less power
but since the rad was fitted its not bogged down

I can't remember the exact figure sure it's about 60 degrees C

Not sure the what the video is trying to show me? Mine pulls clean but just when its low down in revs like say second gear pulling off from a round about it stutters briefly and same when in higher gears and lower revs nothing major just could be better.

Carl at no point on the road will you ever get your car intake temps as hot as when on track so it's just not even a comparison. And when the power drops its massively noticeable like 50bhp noticeable not just a couple of bhp.

I don't feel like I need to chase power at all. I like the smooth ness of it, I have a 450bhp Corsa b track car and tbh its a better car to drive when it's about 300-350bhp if I'm honest

Bit of track prep prior to Cadwell was to remove the air con radiator to allow more air flow to the main radiator, hole sawed the bumper and trimmed the crash bar

Also bought myself a vx220 oil sandwich plate which will allow me to run a oil cooler, due to a delivery delay I wasn't able to fit it in time but will before my next track day.

Also got on a group buy and got a spanner made up for easy removal and fitting

At Cadwell park there was some serious cars and equally serious car trailers and campers, I litterally had this much ha ha

Had a great day there with only a warped rear disc and a downpipe gasket failing but not enough to ruin my day. My biggest problem was boiling the brake fluid after every session, I'm currently using ATE super racing blue but that's got to go and I'll be swapping to Motul RB600 or RB660

For a first time there I feel I did well, beating some of the bigger powered and spec'd time attack Astra coupes, best time I had recorded on the Harry's lap timer was

The cooling mod worked a treat and ran at least 10 degrees C cooler and I never once got the power cut kick in so I'm happy with that.

Looking at my rear tyre wear I desparatly need to add some rear camber as the insides of the tyre aren't getting any use as you can see from the grouping of the melted rubber

Yeah it's hard work trying to stay in the seat at times :unsure: I have buckets and harnesses in my main track car so will steal them from that in time for the next track day.

You should defo get them half leather seats out.

I have a nice net block, crank, conrods and pistons you could swap me your seats for it. 😉

:ROFLMAO: I will be in contact reference the block but the rest isn't needed. The seats will have to stay for a while until I can get another daily driver as can't get the kids in past the buckets and harnesses etc 🙁

Made a start on the fitting of the oil cooler, stole the cooler off the Corsa and modded the outlets on it to suit how I want it to fit on the coupe

Just need to make some mounting brackets once I've decided where I want it to sit.

Then cut up a spare pressure switch

Once in bits I cut and welded some tube on to suit the hose, also drilled out a M10 bolt and made a fitting for the sandwich plate, all Tig welded up and a quick lick paint

Fitted with new copper washer and pipe fits in nicely

Forgot to meantion on the pre trackday prep before Cadwell park I noticed the damper had developed a bad leak after bedford. But not having time to source new ones in between so just had to use them still, not ideal but lived with it. I've now ordered some top of the range Gaz Gold coilovers all round so will be able to fine tune the handling and corner weight the car better for improved handling.
