just brought a new Hoffmann race pipe of ebay, anyone they what they are like and what sound it will give on a DD backbox?

They are but they are a bit cheaper and fit just as well

i have one on mine with standard letterbox and it sounds awesome on over run

Had one on my saloon but it didnt sound any different,i wonder if my double d had extra baffling in it.
I hope it will sound better with the letterbox on my estate!

Aren't most race pipes going to sound the same, as they are just a tube removing the middle silencer?

thinking the same too unless there is a 2"-2.5" difference.
personally,been there and done that with race pipes and opted for a magnex centre in the end.
Hoffman race pipe i had DESTROYED the baffles in my letterbox within months.

A good quality fully stainless tube may sound better than standard metal (better resonance?),my cav sounded better than my vectra but that may just be because its a v6,(have powerflow full stainless on cav & cheap tube on vectra).
Some people think a sports cat will change the sound as well.

Also my cav gets louder after about half an hours use,my vectra never did that.
Oh & my cav is enlarged to 2.25".
