Buddha I have an 02 Astra which the EML light will come on when key is turned on and then go out after the self test and then begin flashing. The emissions light is also on continuously. I have tried reading the codes with a blue tooth OBD11 reader and an Android phone with the Torque app but it does not show any stored fault logs. Also tried the pedal test but that does not work light goes out after self test and then begins to flash. I have currently got the timing chains out of to be replaced as the front guide rail broke up. The cam chain was OK and the timing still appeared OK does anyone have any idea's. Also not sure if it may be related but the battery got flattened to a point where the remote would not unlock the doors. I have since charged the battery and it is OK. It still looks like it has the EGR valve fitted
vocky a flashing EML is due to the immobiliser, so either the key chip is not working or the ecu has forgotten the key chip codes. try a spare key if you have one
